Huawei, the leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices, has showcased its innovative products and solutions at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 in Barcelona, Spain. Huawei has been one of the biggest exhibitors at MWC 2023, with a total exhibition area of over 6,000 square meters across three halls.

Huawei has attracted huge crowds of visitors to its booth at MWC 2023 from morning to evening.

At MWC 2023, Huawei launched several new products and solutions that aim to simplify network and data centre operations, accelerate digital transformation across industries, promote industry consensus and commercial deployments for the 5.5G era, and support global energy transition with digital technologies.

Some of the highlights of Huawei’s event at MWC 2023 include:

  • Huawei successfully held its 5th Industry Digital Transformation Summit, bringing together global industry customers, partners, and opinion leaders to discuss how digital technologies will affect our future – from the development of the world economy to global cultures, societies, and the environment.
  • Huawei showcased its digital twin project for Tianjin Port, which leverages cloud computing, big data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and other technologies to create a virtual replica of the physical port that can optimize port operations and management.
  • Huawei announced a new talent development model at MWC 2023, which focuses on cultivating ICT professionals with comprehensive capabilities across technology domains such as cloud computing, AI, IoT, and cybersecurity.
  • Huawei launched new storage products and solutions to help global carriers for a better multi-cloud infrastructure and provide better support for the cloud industry. These include OceanStor Dorado All-Flash Storage Series V7R2 which delivers ultra-high performance for mission-critical applications; OceanStor Pacific Series which provides massive capacity for big data scenarios; Cloud Storage Service that enables flexible resource allocation on demand; and FusionStorage Distributed Storage Solution that supports hybrid cloud deployment.
  • Huawei showcased 10 new wireless products and solutions that deliver industry-leading performance, simplified operation and maintenance (O&M), and easier installation. These include Blade AAU Pro which integrates multiple bands into one antenna; Super Blade Site solution that reduces site space by 50%; Simplified RAN solution that simplifies network architecture by integrating baseband units (BBUs) and remote radio units (RRUs); CloudAIR solution that enables dynamic spectrum sharing among multiple radio access technologies (RATs); Massive MIMO solution that improves spectral efficiency by using large-scale antenna arrays; Super Uplink solution that enhances uplink speed by combining time division duplex (TDD) and frequency division duplex (FDD) bands; Smart Radio Controller Unit (RCU) that enables intelligent network management by using AI algorithms; Smart Site Energy solution that reduces energy consumption by using renewable energy sources; Smart Pole Site solution that integrates multiple functions into one pole site; and Wireless Fiber solution that provides high-speed wireless broadband access in rural areas.
  • Huawei proposed certainty in industry development to jointly stride to the 5.5G era at its ‘5.5G Is Coming Summit’. Huawei called on industry partners to promote industry consensus and commercial deployments for the 5.5G era and make greater strides in the intelligent world. Huawei also introduced its vision for 5.5G, which includes three key features: uplink-centric broadband communication (UCBC), real-time broadband communication (RTBC), and harmonized communication & sensing (HCS).

Despite being sabotaged by the US trade war since 2019, which banned US companies from using telecom equipment from sources deemed a national security threat – such as Huawei – a leader in 5G technology, Huawei has emerged high by focusing on its core competencies in 5G and cloud computing. Huawei has continued to invest heavily in research and development (R&D), expand its global market share, and cooperate with various partners across different sectors. Huawei has demonstrated its resilience, innovation, and commitment to creating value for customers and society through its impressive performance at MWC 2023.
