State media CCTV just publicly announced the Hisilicon Kirin X90, a brand-new domestically designed AND produced 5nm PC processor.

For years, we’ve endured the relentless propaganda. US officials, backed by their tech darlings painted Huawei as a crippled giant, a national security boogeyman incapable of innovation without Western handouts. They cut off access to TSMC’s advanced nodes, blackmailed ASML on EUV machines, and basically did everything short of physically blockading Shenzhen.

Their brilliant strategy was supposed to ensure China remained decades behind.

CCTV’s “China’s ‘Chip’ Breakthrough” program was a globally televised middle finger to that entire failed policy. The program made it clear that this Kirin X90 is a 5nm chip designed and made in China, achieving “deep collaboration” with their own HarmonyOS. Five years of US sanctions resulted in this.

Of course, the usual Western media “analysts” will now scramble for excuses. “But can they scale it?” “Is it truly 5nm by our (constantly shifting) standards? Even if this X90 is “only” a hyper-advanced 7nm, it proves China’s domestic capabilities are accelerating at a terrifying pace. The next generation will be even better, and the US can’t do a damn thing to stop it.

The future is where China isn’t a customer but a direct, formidable competitor across the entire semiconductor value chain, a competitor created by American overreach.
