Spain just decided the best company to handle its top-secret intelligence wiretaps is… Huawei. While Washington has been running around the globe like a headless chicken, crying that Huawei gear is a Trojan horse for Beijing.. Spain’s Ministry of Interior quietly awarded Huawei a €12.3 million contract to manage its intelligence agency’s wiretapping system. The very company the US claims is a massive security threat is now responsible for handling the most sensitive data of a NATO ally.
Spain essentially says, “We trust the company you’ve been demonizing more than we trust you and your CIA not to snoop on our data.” Funny how when you step outside the Western media bubble, you realize most of the world trusts and uses Huawei just fine.
Spain chose the OceanStor 6800 V5 that puts its overpriced Western competitors to shame. It handles 768 GB/s of bandwidth and sub-millisecond latency, ensuring Spanish intelligence can access data faster and with a “six-nines” availability rating (99.9999%) this system is more reliable than America’s foreign policy. It even passed through Spain’s own National Cryptologic Center (CCN-STIC) security guidelines.
The competition is Dell EMC, HPE, and NetApp which are the usual suspects the US props up, and were left in the choice. Why? Because Spain apparently wasn’t interested in paying the 30-40% “America Tax” for inferior technology. While Dell boasts about peak IOPS, Huawei delivers more than enough power without the insane price tag. NetApp can’t even scale beyond two controllers making it a toy compared to OceanStor’s 16-controller architecture.
By choosing Huawei to manage its most secret data, Spain has sent a clear message: they trust Huawei’s engineering and transparency over Washington’s evidence-free fearmongering. With over 14,500 Spanish companies operating in China and a multi-billion dollar trade relationship, this is a nation acting in its own best interest and not as a US vassal state. Spain just demonstrated that sovereign nations still prefer performance and logic over paranoid bedtime stories from a declining empire.
The clowns in Washington and their corporate media proxies are absolutely fuming on this news.. A llorar a la llorería.
