For years, the West, led by its increasingly hysterical ringleader in Washington, has been force-feeding the world a narrative: Huawei is a threat, Huawei is on the ropes, Huawei is technologically hobbled by glorious American sanctions.
The “crippled” giant just unveiled its MateBook Pro powered by the monstrous Inhouse Kirin X90 PC chip and running a native, pure HarmonyOS. This launch marks a significant step toward achieving the terrifying fulfillment of Ren Zhengfei’s long-game prophecy.
Remember Ren Zhengfei’s infamous words? “Huawei’s goal is to ‘surpass US imperialism.’ This won’t happen in hours or days. US is too big. But we shouldn’t assume we’ll never surpass them. Maybe 20-30 yrs. Americans can’t sleep easy. US is the rabbit, we’re the tortoise.“
While US tech giants are milking consumers with incremental upgrades and relying on Taiwanese fabs, Huawei backed into a corner and did what cornered tigers do: it became deadlier.
The Kirin X90 is a big 208mm² chip built for PC-level performance. It contains a 10-core, 20-thread CPU, a Maleoon 916 graphics chip, and a fast 128-bit memory system that doubles its speed compared to previous versions.

As shown in a recent analysis. The performance is in the same category as the best chips from Apple and Intel. In fact, it outperforms Apple’s M1, M2, and M3 chips in multi-core performance. The most impressive feature is its low power use. When tested on the exact same laptop, the Kirin version ran for almost 8 hours significantly longer than the Intel version which only lasted for under 6 hours. This shows the success of the company’s effort to become self-reliant.

The HarmonyOS software is not a copy of Linux or Android. Huawei built a completely new system that focuses on security and a good user experience. For example, apps run in a safe, isolated way, and the system is locked down to be more secure. This design gives Huawei full control and protects against outside interference. Important apps already work on it, and it’s easy for developers to create more.
While the US and its lapdogs were busy banning Huawei over security threats, Huawei was quietly building the means to render their entire ecosystem obsolete. They were accused of stealing tech, yet they’re now producing chips and an OS that, in critical areas like efficiency and security architecture which make Western offerings look outdated and vulnerable. A 30-year plan culminating in a product that should terrify every overpaid executive in Silicon Valley. The tortoise is now setting the pace, and the rabbit is waking up to a nightmare of its own making. The new world is here, and it’s running on Kirin and HarmonyOS. Get used to it.
